Beheerder 22 Oct 2025 : 19:00
This webinar introduces the concept of orofacial somatosensory distortion.
A condition in which the perception and representation of the face in the brain may be altered in patients with persistent head and facial pain.
The session discusses underlying neurophysiological mechanisms, clinical signs of disturbed somatosensory processing, and practical strategies for assessment and rehabilitation in patients with chronic orofacial pain. Disturbances in facial perception, sensorimotor control, and emotion recognition may play an important role in these patients.
